Vestibular rehabilitation involves advice and information on how to manage dizziness symptoms, alongside an exercise programme, which usually includes various eye, head and neck movements to help improve balance and mobility. Often vestibular rehabilitation is the only treatment you will need to provide you with the tools to manage your condition long term.
People who may benefit from vestibular rehabilitation are those diagnosed with:
- generalised balance problems
- labyrinthitis
- vestibular neuritis
- Meniere’s
- Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
- neck-related dizziness
- post-concussion or whiplash injury
- migraine
People who frequently fall may also benefit from this approach.
If the results of the testing are inconclusive, or your symptoms are more complex, you may be referred to your GP for further medical tests to find out the cause of your dizziness.
